ASI Brief
A short daily brief on AI and superintelligence — three to five things that happened, why each one matters, and a link to the primary source for every item.
Three to five items a day on frontier models, the labs chasing superintelligence, the capital being spent on it, and the data centres, power and chips underneath. Every item links the filing, announcement or document it is based on, so you can check us in one click.
- Meta's quarter puts a number on what "personal superintelligence" costs
- Britain's £300m AI biosecurity lab is £100m of cash and £200m of credits
- Moonshot's new flagship is listed, and its weights are not promised
- Anthropic hands the Agent Skills standard to a Linux Foundation body
- Two utility filings measure the gap between the pipeline and the megawatts
How to read this
Each item says what happened and why it matters, and names its source. Where a number appears, it is quoted from a primary document we opened — a regulatory filing, a government page, a company's own documentation — and not from another outlet's summary of one. Where we could not open the source, we say so and do not publish the number.
This is deliberately short. It is not a link roundup, and it is not a newsletter about AI opinion: an item runs if something verifiable happened. Thin days get three items rather than five padded ones.
What this covers
- Frontier models — releases, capabilities, open weights, deprecations.
- Superintelligence labs and their claims — what they say they are building, and what they have actually shipped or published.
- AI capital spending — capex guidance, financing, the accounts where the build-out shows up.
- Data centres, power and chips — interconnection, generation, fabs, packaging, the physical constraints.
- Policy — rules, funding, procurement, enforcement.
